Your Session
My sessions are held at locations that fit my clients lifestyle and personality. A local park, downtown location, public gardens, an open road, a local farm . . . the possibilities are endless. My studio will travel to your home for a newborn session, and yearbook photos can be taken there as well. Because I use natural lighting for the majority of my sessions, my studio is used exclusively for newborn photos and head shots. The majority of your session will be lifestyle portraiture while I capture your family, with a few “encouraged poses”.
Portrait Session
The session will last normally between 1-2 hours. The best times of day are about an hour after sunrise, and an hour or two before sunset. For family sessions, please dress coordinating, but not matching. If you need ideas I am happy to provide examples and suggestions. I encourage children to bring something that is special to them. A lovey, favorite doll or stuffed animal, toy car, my goal is to capture their personality. You can even pick an outfit for them and let them pick a change of clothes as well. A healthy, happy, clean, well rested and fed child is easiest to photograph. We want to set them up to succeed, so you can get the best possible images.
Newborn Session
Please contact me to set up the session before your baby is even born. Newborn sessions are done within 10 days after the baby is born. To make it easiest for you and your newly expanded family, my studio can easily come to your home. To set yourself up for the easiest most comfortable session, preparation begins even before I arrive. Turn your heat up to around 80 to make it warm and comfortable, feed the baby, put their diaper on loosely, and wrap them up. Newborns photograph best with minimal clothing, and nothing bulky. I will bring a small space heater, blankets, and a few other goodies. We will work with what you have as well to make your session unique. Newborn sessions often come with multiple breaks for feeding and diaper changes, so bring your patience. I will work hard until we have the best possible images.
Mini Session Mini sessions are offered in the spring and fall. Mini sessions are a 20 minute session on location with a maximum of 10 bookings. These sessions are offered at a reduced rate and special packages are often offered. The rates and offerings vary for each mini session. All Facebook Fans of Little Wonders Photography are notified first and given the opportunity to sign up before it is announced on my website.
